The Zośka Battalion, scouts on the front line! A heroic unit of the Armia Krajowa, comprising approximately 650 young soldiers, played a pivotal role in the Warsaw Uprising, resisting German forces in Wola and Ochota. One of the Zośka Battalion's many actions against the occupant was freeing 348 Jews from the German concentration camp KL Warschau—commonly known as "Gęsiówka"—highlighting its resistance efforts.
Its name honours the legendary officer of the Home Army, Tadeusz Zawadzki, aka “Zośka”, who was killed by the Germans on 20 August 1943.
