Plans of the defense assumed that Hel was to defend against the enemy for 14 days - in fact it holds for 32 days. Hel defenders, being under heavy fire of German battleships Schlesien and Schleswig-Holstein, permanent attacks of air forces and protecting from the attacks from the land. Hel was defended by 3 690 soldiers including crews from destroyed ships and airplanes.

2nd of October Hel surrendered.

Hel obronił 690 3 żołnierzy, w tym załogi z zniszczonych statków i samolotów.

2 października Hel się poddał.
